Play Poker

If you want to play poker you have to be aware of the rules. This is a game of skill and that means that even if you have strong card you can lose. That is why you have to find a perfect poker strategy, which to show you how to react in all kinds of situations. But let us start with the basic rules - they are the most important thing if you want to play poker.

Poker is played with 52 cards. In the beginning of the game, each gambler puts an ante or token bet into the pot. The ante is needed because it guarantees the players that someone will always win something on each hand. When the players are ready with the ante, the dealer deals the cards on the table face down. The game usually starts with the gambler, who is sitting to the left side of the dealer. The game is played clockwise. When everyone receives five cards the first round of betting occurs. You have the opportunity to open (to take the first bet) or to check (that means that you do not want to open the betting but you do not want to leave the game, too).

When someone opens the bets, each player has three opportunities - to see (to match the last bet), to raise (to increase the bet) and to fold (to quit the current game, because your cards are too bad). Well, the players with the strongest cards win the pot.
